Starting Fresh After a Breakup

Going through a breakup can leave you feeling depressed and stressed. You not only are alone, but you also have to figure out what your future is going to look like as a single person and without your ex in the picture. No matter who or why the relationship ended, the truth is, it can be confusing and hard to deal with what life now has to hold. Maybe the first few months after the breakup will be heard.

You have to learn to heal and to make sure that your chakras are balanced after you breakup so that you can get rid of the negativity that follows any heartbreak.

Chakra is a word from Sanskrit that means a disk or a wheel and is the energy that comes in the body. This is a practice that has been around for years and is an ancient Indian meditation practice. People have seven main chakras and they are connected to different parts of the body and make up the energy sources.

The chakras not only affect your mind and body, but it also effects your emotions. When your chakras are balanced and open, you can accept love and understanding and happiness but when they are blocked or unbalanced, you become negative and have feelings that do not allow you to move forward.

When you can balance your chakras and get rid of the negative energies that they sometimes hold, you can get rid of the heartbreak of a breakup and learn to move forward.

Figuring out which chakra is unbalanced can be hard. You have to learn to listen to what your body and your emotions are telling you and then figure out which chakras might be blocked. Pay attention to how you are feeling and how your emotions are working. Always be kind with yourself because this is a hard time to go through.

Here are the seven chakras and how you can determine if they are blocked or not:

Root Chakra

The chakra that is located at the spine is the root chakra. This is where your feelings originate and your need for survival and security. When this is grounded, you can feel safe and secure and when it is blocked, you will find you have little energy. Always tell yourself, “I am in a safe place to be grounded and I am worthy.”

Find foods that are red to eat such as strawberries and tomatoes and wear clothes that are brown and red so that you can ground yourself. Go outside and walk in nature barefoot so you can work well with the healing nature of the earth.

Use crystals such as bloodstone, red tigers’ eye, and smoky quartz during meditation.

Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakra is located in the lower stomach and is where you find your self-worth. This is where your creativity and your sexuality lie. If you have struggles in your finances, sexuality, or your life, you might need to check on your sacral chakra.

Eating foods that are orange such as carrots and melons can help and try to wear yellow. The sacral chakra is a water chakra and so if you want to balance it, try taking a bath or going swimming.

Use essential oils such as ylang ylang or sandalwood and the carnelian crystal.

Solar Plexus

The chakra that is close to the ribs is the solar plexus. This is where you can make it on your own and where you have self-worth and power. This is where your independence lies. When you feel secure you are probably balanced but when you find a hard time being confident, this can mean you are unbalanced in your solar plexus.

Yellow is the color for the solar plexus so eat things such as bananas or pineapples. Wear yellow and get into the sun as much as you can.

You can also use cinnamon and peppermint essential oils or gold tigers’ eye, yellow jasper or citrine crystals when meditating.

Heart Chakra

The heart chakra is the most affected chakra when a breakup happens. This can cause you to feel lonely or unloved. This is a place where you feel grief and sadness but at the same time the place where you can find joy and peace.

When your heart is closed, you have to heal this chakra. Say to yourself, “I am worthy of love.”

Eat foods that are green such as broccoli and avocado and wear green. You can also use breathing meditation and rose essential oils to help you. When meditating, use the rose quartz or the green aventurine.

Throat Chakra

When you are not able to say what you are feeling or speak your mind, chances are your throat chakra is blocked. This is located in your throat and affects your ability to speak and express yourself. If you are blocked here, you can journal or talk to someone that you love. Learn to be open and speak freely.

This is associated with the blue color and so you can eat blue foods such as blueberries and dragon fruit and wear blue. Listen closely to what others are saying and actually hear them. Learn to connect with the universe.

Using essential oils such as eucalyptus and lapis lazuli, turquoise and celestite crystals can also help.

Third Eye Chakra

The chakra located between your forehead is your third eye chakra. This is where your vision and your psychic gifts lie. This is what helps you to see in the future and to not feel judged.

If you are not able to focus on your life or if you are lacking wisdom, this can be blocked. Wearing indigo or eating things such as purple kale or grapes can help you to align your energies. Also, go into the sun and connect with it.

Use lavender and amethyst to help you.

Crown Chakra

The crown chakra is located at the top of your head and helps you connect with your mind and your body. This helps you to learn from hard times and to focus and grow. When this chakra is unbalanced, you will be stressed and depressed.

When you have peace and love, the chakra is balanced. If you want to balance this chakra, wear purple, and eat some purple foods. The crown is connected with the elements so use them to help balance your life.

Use frankincense essential oils or selenite, white calcite, and quartz crystals when you meditate.

Clearing your chakras is not always easy but it can help to bring you joy and calmness in your life. The more you want to heal, the better you will be. Try yoga and other ideas in order to balance your chakras and focus your mind on the future and stop living in the past.
